A Legacy Page in memory of
Dr Suzy Parker

Dr Suzy Parker studied at Norwich Medical School, University of East Anglia. She then worked at the local University hospital, teaching & working in the Older Person’s Medical department as a doctor.

While studying, she set up the first ‘Headucate’ society, Headucate UEA, coining the term and our name.

Suzy's family set up a JustGiving page in memory of Suzy which has already raised over £1,000 for Headucate UK: https://www.justgiving.com/page/suzy-parker-headucate

Suzy, an innovator

Suzy inspired so many to look out for others and to want to make the world a better place, reducing mental health stigma and educating our young people.

The foundations on which Headucate was founded has led the project to become an impactful society across schools and Universities nationwide, and led it to become a registered charity.

As 50% of mental health conditions have already started to plant seeds by the age of 14, our mission is to support prevention by teaching children to ‘spot the sign’, opening up the conversation & providing them with resources & the supports available.

Suzy, an educator

Suzy saw the need for improved mental health education in schools and started Headucate branches’ running mental health literacy workshops in schools. Dr. Suzy Parker authored a number of studies assessing the impact of Headucate workshops in schools and these workshops were well received by the students. This is truly an inspiration and great contribution, not only in the field of science and mental health, but especially for young people who may be facing stigma due to their mental health.

Suzy, an incredible soul

Headucate has become a family and it is with a heavy heart that we announce her passing.

She has directly and indirectly made a difference to so many young people & university students’ lives through creation of the Headucate name.

Suzy attended the Headucate UEA 10-year anniversary party in 2022, celebrating the creation of the new Headucate UK charity. Attendees described her as ‘very inspiring, and her work has left the most amazing legacy for everyone who knew her, and for Headucate’.

Our continued work will always be in tribute to you, Suzy.
