About Headucate UK

Headucate is a student-led organisation first established at the University of East Anglia in 2012 by a group of medical students.

In the past decade, we have expanded our Headucate family to include branches at University College London, University of Birmingham and University of Cambridge.

Our overriding aim is to tackle mental health stigma and help end discrimination in children and young people.

What We Do

Bringing together university students passionate about Mental Health outreach

Mental Health Education

We run small workshops in schools to tackle the common misconceptions around mental illness in children and young people.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, we have continued to run our events virtually through online platforms, reaching over 300 secondary school students within 2 months, and over 1,000 students throughout the academic year!

We also run events through university societies with the aim of improving the wellbeing of the university student population.

Forming Connections

We are creating an interconnected network of university mental health societies, allowing us all to share ideas, resources, and enthusiasm as we work towards our common goals.

We welcome any interested societies across the country to join us as an affiliate Headucate branch, enabling new members to feel connected and supported by our community, whilst maintaining as much individuality and creative freedom as you would like!
